Profile & Archive


In this section you can customize your public profile.

1. Profile Picture Upload and Setting Home location


Picture Upload:
In the picture upload field you can upload the picture that viewers will see on your public profile.

  1. 1. Click 'browse' to locate the picture you want on your computer and 'open' to pick it out.
* In IE You may need to refresh your page to see your newly uploaded picture.

Setting Home Location:
Setting your home location determines where you public profile map will center when you are off-line and not broadcasting. Consider where you plan on generating most of your content when you set this location.

  1. 1. Click the drop down menu in the "Country" field and choose your home country.
  2. 2. Click the drop down menu in the "Region: field and choose your home region. (If you are in the United States this will be your home state)
  3. 3. Click the drop down menu in the "City" field and choose your home city.
  4. 4. Once you have picked a location for all fields, click the "Update Your Location" button to set your home location. You should see your home location update below your user name.

    2. "Who I am" and "My Interests"


    Who I am:
    Let viewers know who you are.

    1. 1. Write a short (up to 300 character) description of yourself in the text box.
    2. 2. Click 'Update Profile Info'.


    My Interests:
    Let viewers know what your interests are.
    1. 1. Write a short (up to 300 character) description of your interests in the text box.
    2. 2. Click 'Update Interests'.

    3. On Demand Videos


    My on Demand Geo-Videos:
    This section displays the title and location of all the On-Demand videos that you have uploaded to Seero. Here you can edit your videos or remove them from the site.

    To Edit:
    1. 1. Find the Video you would like to edit by scrolling through your list of On-Demand videos.
    2. 2. Click the "Edit" link for the video you have selected, modify any of the related information about the video, and click 'Save' to finalize the changes.

    To Remove:
    1. 1. Click the "Remove" link for the video you would like to remove.
    2. 2. Click the "OK" button in the pop-up window to finish the removal process.


    Archived Live Broadcasts:
    The Archived Live Broadcast section provides access to your previous live broadcasts that have been saved on the Seero servers. Each live broadcast is saved for a period of 7 days before it is automatically deleted from the server. This section provides access to download your archived broadcast to your local computer drive if you want to save them or edit them and upload them as an On-Demand Video.

    4. My Calendar


    The My Calendar section allows you to access calendars you make in Google calendars and import them into your Seero profile. All you need is a Gmail account.

    1. 1. Set up a new Google calendar for your Seero profile. You can do this by either creating a new calendar in your current Google calendar account (the calendar tab on Gmail) or by registering a Gmail account if you don't have one.
    2. 2. In Google Calendars, create a new calendar by clicking 'Add' and then 'Create a New Calendar.'
    3. 3. Set your new calendar to public by clicking the "Share all information on this calendar with everyone" check box in the Share with Everyone section of the calendar creation form.
    4. 4. Once you have finished creating you calendar click the settings link in the upper right corner of you calendar account and click the "calendar" tab.
    5. 5. Find the name of the calendar that you created and in the "Calendar Address" section find your calendar ID (it is located to the right of the green iCal button).
    6. 6. Copy your calendar ID and paste it into the "Calendar ID field" back in your Seero profile and archive page.
    7. 7. Click the "Update Calendar Key" to finish adding your Google calendar to your Seero profile page.

    * Once you have completed interfacing your calendar with your Seero profile, you can add new events to your schedule through the Google calendar interface.
    * At any point if you wish to revert to the default Seero calendar, click the "Revert to default" button.
    * Remember this is your Seero calendar so do not enter personal information or appointments as they will be viewable by the public.

    5. My Weather Feed


    This is where you can enter your home location zip code to display your local weather.

    1. Enter your zip code and click 'Update Zip Code.'

    6. My Survey


    Your survey is where you can create a poll to allow viewers to vote on issues related to your broadcast.

    1. 1. In the 'Question' field, enter a question you want to poll viewers about. (e.g. Where should I go next in San Francisco?)
    2. 2. In each 'Option' field, enter one survey answer that viewers can choose to vote on. (e.g. Fisherman's Wharf, Coit Tower, North Beach)
    3. 3. When you finish, click 'Update Survey' to refresh your new survey.

    4. * Your past survey and its results will be wiped when you enter a new survey and click 'Update Survey'

      Uploading Videos


      Please use this section as a guide for uploading videos to the site and tagging them to the locations where they take place.

      1. 1. Enter the title, description and keyword tags for the video you are going to upload. (Be sure to separate your keyword tags with a 'comma'.)
      2. 2. To geo-tag your video drag the cursor on the map and zoom in all the way to the specific destination where it is located. If you know the address where your video is located you can type it into the address field under the map and click 'Find Location.' Be sure to type in a full address (including street) so that the map will zoom all the way down to the video's specific location.
      3. 3. When you choose the video's location the latitude and longitude fields on the left will automatically fill in.
      4. 4. Click 'Browse' to browse your local drive and select the video you want to upload.
      5. 5. Click 'Upload your Video' to begin the upload process. Please be patient as uploads usually take 1-5 minutes per megabyte on high speed connections and video conversion takes a few minutes.

      6. * When it displays 'Video Uploaded Successfully' you can click back to 'Profile and Archive' to see your video in the 'My On-Demand Geo-Videos' queue. It will process here for a few minutes until your video appears on the public map.
        * You can edit the location and related information of your Videos by clicking 'edit' in the 'My On-Demand' section of the 'profile and archive' page.

      Live Broadcasting



      Please use this section as a guide if you need help getting your live-on-location broadcast started. For any other questions refer to our FAQ.

      1. Getting Started


      Enter a broadcast title and click 'Get Started' to start setting up your live broadcast.

      2. Location Setup


      Static Location:
      If you don't have GPS connectivity, you can statically geo-tag the location of your broadcast by using the map module on the right.

      1. 1. To statically geo-tag your broadcast drag the cursor on the map and zoom in all the way to the specific destination where you are currently located. If you know the address where you are located you can type it into the address field under the map and click 'Find Location.' Be sure type in a full address (including street) so that the map will zoom all the way down to your specific location.
      2. 2. When you choose your location the latitude and longitude fields on the left will automatically fill in. Click 'Set Static Location' to proceed.

      Real-Time GPS:
      Using Seero's GPS application you can directly connect to your GPS device and broadcast your real-time location on the move.

      1. 1. Click 'Download the live GPS application' to download the GPS application if you don't have it already.
      2. 2. A new download window should open up (your pop-up blocker may need to be disabled). Choose your Operating System (Windows, Mac, or Linux) and click to download the installer to your computer.
      3. 3. Run the GPS installer that you downloaded.
      4. 4. Choose where to install the GPS application, click 'Next', and then click 'Install.'
      5. 5. Find the GPS application where you installed it (in windows it will probably be in 'Program Files') and run it. Make sure your GPS receiver is connected to your computer at this time.
      6. 6. In the GPS application type in the Seero user name and password that you are logged in under. Find and select the serial port that your GPS device is plugged into. In Windows, you can go to 'system, device manager, com ports' to see which port your GPS device is on.
      7. 7. In the GPS application, click 'Start' to pull your locational heading from your GPS device. It should display your latitude, longitude, and directional heading on the bottom of the application. If you do not receive a GPS fix you may need to relocate your GPS device to a location with less interference so that it can better connect with a satellite.
      8. 8. Back on the Seero.com location tab, click 'Check for Live GPS' to pull your GPS location onto our servers.

      3. Video Setup


      Make sure your microphone and camera devices are properly selected, choose your bandwidth setting, and start your broadcast.

      1. 1. If your camera and microphone devices aren't set by default, you can select the correct devices from the two drop menus- 'mic settings' and 'camera settings'.
      2. 2. If you aren't sure if your devices are working, click 'Check Selected Devices'. Click 'allow' and check 'remember' to make sure your device is properly set. A green light means the device is working, a red light means it isn't properly setup.
      3. 3. Make sure you are set to the proper bandwidth setting. Generally, if you are broadcasting from a WiFi connection or better you can choose the medium or high settings. If you are on a 3G cellular broadband connection the low setting usually works best.
      4. 4. Click 'Go Live' and you should see your video feed on the screen. Your audio should be represented by the waveforms on each side of the video.
      5. 5. When you have finished your broadcast click 'Stop Broadcast'. You can now find your broadcast and preview it from your archives and then publish it to your public profile.

      *To stop broadcasting you must push the "Stop" button on your encoder and then click the "Click to Stop Broadcasting" button in the Seero broadcasting application.

      Publishing your Archived Broadcasts


      Please use this section as a guide for publishing your archived broadcasts.

      1. 1. In the 'My Archived Broadcast' section click the preview link for the broadcast you want to review. This optional step helps ensure you publish the correct broadcast and review for quality.
      2. 2. Click the 'publish' link to start the publishing process.
      3. 3. In the publishing details page enter the title, description and keyword tags for the video you are going to upload. (Be sure to separate your keyword tags with a comma.)
      4. 4. Click the 'save' button to publish the archived broadcast to your public on-demand videos.
      * If you do not want you keep an archived broadcast you can delete the broadcast by clicking the 'delete' link.
